Sensor Models — Key Ingredient for Sensor Fusion

BASELABS sensor fusion expert, Eric Richter, explains why sensor models are a key ingredient for sensor fusion and how they influence the environmental model's performance. In conclusion, Eric calls for a scalable sensor fusion architecture that separates sensor models from algorithms and enables reusability of major architecture parts when exchanging or adding sensors. The modular and ISO 26262 certified sensor fusion library BASELABS Create Embedded includes such a scalable architecture and allows fast sensor exchanges and modifications.
Learn more about sensor models in connection with our software library and safety aspects on our FAQ page - question 6 and question 21.

  We believe in reliable partnerships

BASELABS and its team of sensor fusion enthusiasts want to make automated vehicles safe under all conditions by providing modular and safe sensor fusion software products. We are a trustworthy partner for automotive manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. The company was founded in 2012 and is in shared ownership by its four founders and Vector Informatik GmbH. This makes us strategically independent from any OEM, Tier 1, or sensor supplier in the market. Our success is based on committed employees, whose positive assessment has led BASELABS to receive the "Great Place to Work®" award several times. We support our customers in shortening time to market by using an established and automated development workflow. Furthermore, we reduce series project risks by utilizing an ISO 26262 certified embedded library.
