The story behind our Data Fusion Designer for the fast configuration of data fusion applications
These days the final presentation of the SADA research project takes place on the Hannover Messe. The primary objective of SADA was to develop a solution that flexibly links data in the car with data from stationary sensor infrastructure and on-board sensors. Within the SADA project we developed the basis for the Data Fusion Designer.
Combining the data of multiple on-board sensors like cameras, radars and lidars to build an environmental model is a crucial part for automated driving functions, but is very challenging to be implemented by manual coding. Facing the rising number of sensors in those systems, the manual approach is no longer suitable and so we developed a GUI to configure the data fusion – the Data Fusion Designer.
