Development Approach: Utilizing a Standardized Sensor Fusion Library

The market requirements for the development of automated driving functions and their data fusion systems are constantly changing. Not only is Sensor Fusion a challenging task in and of itself, but it also needs to be quickly and efficiently re-configured and adapted for different projects, ADAS functions, sensor combinations, use cases, or design domains. Thus, data fusion development is continuously time and resource-intensive. For safety-critical applications in series vehicles, the overall efforts increase drastically due to the high efforts for documentation and testing.

With our sensor fusion library BASELABS Create Embedded, we provide data fusion algorithm blocks and a reference architecture for the efficient development of safe sensor fusion software.

Its embedded library contains fusion algorithms that combine data from radar, camera, and lidar sensors. The resulting object fusion provides a unified object list of the vehicle environment and serves as an input for path planning and decision algorithms.

Users are enabled to handle the complexity of safety-critical automotive applications. They can concentrate on developing and optimizing the overall system and the actual driving functions and thus differentiate from the competitors.
