We provide software products to make the development of sensor fusion efficient and scalable. We are a trustworthy partner for automotive manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.
BASELABS was founded in 2012 and is in shared ownership by its four founders and Vector Informatik GmbH. Thus, we are strategically independent of any OEM, Tier 1, or sensor supplier in the market.
Customers work with us to:
- develop next-gen ADAS and AD systems,
- significantly increase development speed,
- build-up sensor fusion know-how,
- lower development costs,
- get immediate access to series-grade sensor fusion source code,
- benefit from sourcing standardized software libraries,
- provision of diverse paths in sensor fusion safety architectures.

Sensor Fusion Expertise
The BASELABS team has a strong background in algorithm development for both advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated vehicles. The team has broad experience in probabilistic data fusion techniques from several implementations for leading customers from the automotive industry.
Development Approach: Utilizing standardized sensor fusion libraries
The market requirements for the development of automated driving functions and their data fusion systems are constantly changing. Not only is sensor fusion a challenging task in and of itself, but it also needs to be quickly and efficiently re-configured and adapted for different projects, ADAS functions, sensor combinations, use cases, or design domains. Thus, sensor fusion development is continuously time and resource-intensive. For safety-critical applications in series vehicles, the overall efforts increase drastically due to the high efforts for documentation and testing.
BASELABS offers sensor fusion software in the form of two distinct libraries for different system contexts and design domains. BASELABS software has been developed for usage in production vehicles.
With our sensor fusion library BASELABS Create Embedded, we provide object fusion algorithm blocks and a reference architecture for the efficient development of safe sensor fusion software.
Its embedded library contains fusion algorithms that combine data from radar, camera, and lidar sensors. The resulting object fusion provides a unified object list of the vehicle environment and serves as an input for path planning and decision algorithms.
Users are enabled to handle the complexity of safety-critical automotive applications. They can concentrate on developing and optimizing the overall system and the actual driving functions and thus differentiate from the competitors.

The BASELABS Dynamic Grid is a software library that addresses the fusion of dynamic and static objects, including free space detection. It also takes semantic segmentation information into account. As an output, it provides a unified object list of the environment. With its capability to process point-cloud information from high resolution sensors, it is particularly suited for complex and cluttered environments.
