BASELABS Models is available for PreScan by TASS International. PreScan is a physics-based simulation platform that is used in the automotive industry for development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that are based on sensor technologies such as radar, laser/lidar, camera and GPS. PreScan is also used for designing and evaluating vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication applications as well as autonomous driving applications.

Integration into PreScan and Simulink
BASELABS Models comes as ready-to-use Plug-In for PreScan which can be ordered from TASS International and installed separately. The user then defines characteristics of the sensor that should be simulated. This includes the field of view, measurement noise and detection characteristics and can be taken from the sensor data sheet. For Simulink, BASELABS Models comes with a visualization block to not only have the simulated sensor detections available for calculation, but also to visualize the data.

Typical errors of real sensors for a better validation of the simulation results
For the virtual validation of sensor systems, we offer BASELABS Models. This sensor model plugin injects typical errors of ADAS sensors into simulation environments. It simulates typical sensor characteristics of radar and smart camera sensors, e.g. noise, false and missed detections or latency. This enables a more realistic simulation of ADAS sensors for better evaluation of driver assistance systems and automated driving functions.
